A Time to Pray with Others

At this time in your Monday and in these changing times you are invited to pause and pray with others in our city and across the nation…to the LORD our God, our Father God.

You are encouraged to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus

For family and friends

For all in our city at this time

For NHS and Care Home staff in our city

For our country and our national leaders at this time

Time-out before Christmas

Christmas Day is almost here!
The Kirkyard Nativity scenes are still inviting us to walk around!

As a Church we usually set aside a Tuesday each week and provide a place with space – the UPPER ROOM – a place for time-out in these busier days. In the early weeks and months of lockdown it was not possible to open and run this space…and sadly it is now once again unavailable for one and all…whether you belong to Liberton Kirk or not.

You are invited however to make time to pause and take time out…for the last time this year…perhaps for the first time…..

* To find a space in a busy world
** For time-out in this Christmas week
* Private prayer for yourself and for others
** With God – Father Son and Holy Spirit

You are invited to pause at some time during this week and be still with God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

You are encouraged to speak with Him….to listen to Him.…to receive from Him…especially at this time as we seek to hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church in our times.

You are invited to share in the Midday Prayers and Evening Prayers that will be posted online at 12noon and 9pm on various days on the Kirk website and on our social media pages. We are also encouraged to pray with others in our city and across our land at 5pm….focussing on all those affected by the coronavirus…..and during this particular week you are invited to join with others and pray for all those affected afresh by the new coronavirus restrictions.

We are all invited to pray with others in our Church family as we journey through these latter days of 2020 together…..and to listen for what God is saying to us in these changing and uncertain days.

Daily Devotions for Monday 21st December, 2020

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Jesus, Saviour and Lord

Reading : REVELATION chapter 4

Meditation : take time to consider this part of the Bible and all that happens!
Worship in Heaven.
What words or images stay with you?
What is your response to this vision?

Take time to Pray in worship to what you have read

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty—
the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come.”

“You are worthy, O Lord our God,
to receive glory and honour and power.
For you created all things,
and they exist because you created what you pleased.”

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on the materials in Perspex boxes at our gates
O LORD, hear our prayers and use them real good we ask.

Evening
Reading : read these words again from REVELATION 4
Reflect on the worship in heaven here and then Pray in response

LORD God, our God, hear our evening prayers,
As we pause to catch this vision
And pause in your Presence this evening
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
