Thy Kingdom Come #sorry

In our land and across our world during the 10 days before Pentecost in 2017 and 2018 believers and followers of Jesus were invited to pause and pray for the Kingdom of God to be experienced and evidenced anew. This was a venture created by God through the Archbishop of Canterbury and others and will be repeated in 2019.

As part of our daily devotional rhythm on a Saturday morning there are 11 posts on our website and social media pages – at 8am – on the 11 themes brought to us by the Thy Kingdom Come prayer venture leaders.

Today we are invited to pause in God’s presence – and bring Him our prayers of confession

Please take a few minutes to pray your prayers with honesty this morning.

Confess the words, actions, thoughts that are brought to your mind.

Pause and pray for the sins of our city.

O LORD our God
Have mercy we cry out.
Forgive us when we hide behind our walls at Liberton.

Daily Devotions for Saturday 9th March, 2019

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : PSALM 32

Meditation : take time to consider these verses written here.
A psalm of David – confession and forgiveness.
What do they mean for you?
What is God saying to you today?

And then Pray in response to what you read – to this God.
Look again at verses 3-5.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on those struggling in life at this time
God of grace and mercy hear our prayers and bless each and all real good we ask.

Evening
Reading : read this Psalm again
Reflect on this God, your God…. and then Praise Him in your evening Prayer
LORD God, our God, receive our praise
For who You are!
For all you have done for us!
And as we give it all back to you
May you continue to reach and save people
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done across our world
In our community, in our city.

Daily Devotions for 8th March, 2019

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Jesus

Reading : EXODUS chapter 5 verse 22 – chapter 6 verse 1

Meditation : consider these few words this morning.
How would you describe Moses’ relationship with his God?
What promise from God are you standing upon in your life?

And then Pray in response – as God leads you
Pray with confidence to our God of faithful promise

Amen – we pray together.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on those who have family troubles at this time
Father God, hear our prayers, show mercy and bless them real good we ask.

Evening
Reading : read the short passage again
Reflect on the words you have just read and pray in response
Lord Jesus, hear our evening prayers
And bring a blessing to those in need of deliverance we ask
Amen.

Daily Devotions for 7th March, 2019

Morning

Reading : EXODUS chapter 4

Meditation : take time and carefully consider these words.
How would you describe God’s relationship with Moses?
What is God saying to you today?

Then pray in response to the LORD as your day starts

Pray God’s blessing on the leaders and government of North Korea
Lord, hear our prayers and bless each and all real good we ask.

Reflect on the words written here – and what God is saying to you now.
Pray in response to this God who was with Moses
O LORD, hear our evening prayers as this day closes
As we return our thanks to You.
And bless all those we name before you.
