A Call to Evening Prayer

As your day draws to a close, you are invited to pause and pray

You may want to revisit the Daily Devotions for today – words of Jesus from Matthew 18 vs 1-5

You may need to name others before Father God

You may want to be still and receive from God the Holy Spirit

Pause to Pray for Others

On this particular Monday after Pentecost…as the nation journeys forward out of this season of Lockdown.. you are invited to pause and continue to pray with others in our city and across the nation…to the LORD our God, our Father God.

You are encouraged to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus

For family and friends and neighbours

For the leaders of countries in need known to you

For NHS and Care Home staff across the nation

For our country and our national leaders at this time of decision making

An Invitation after Sunday

After John’s message to us as a Church on Sunday morning, you are invited to the Upper Room….to take a walk….and to the Church Gathering for Prayer…..

As a Church we usually set aside a Tuesday each week and provide a place with space – the UPPER ROOM – a place for time-out in our busy days. This is a safe place, and COVID-19 guidelines are carefully followed.

* A space to be still in a busy world – in the room above the Kirkgate Cafe 7.30am-7.30pm
** Private prayer for yourself and for others – come and go as you wish
* Listening to God – Father Son and Holy Spirit
** Opportunities to pause and pray with others at 8am…12 midday…7pm

You are invited to take a walk…
We would invite you to take a walk around the Kirkyard and consider what God is saying to you at this time from the words displayed at various locations from John 14….starting at the Offering House.
You are invited to use the bench at the top left of the Kirkyard (under the large tree) to pause and pray – to be still with God – to ask, seek, knock, wait and receive.

You are encouraged to be part of the Church Gathering for Prayer this Tuesday evening – on Zoom.
We will be puting courageous prayer into practice as we offer prayers of thanksgiving, as we wait together in God’s presence, as we focus on the General Assembly meeting this week and as we pray for others and each other.
Take courage – and join us!
