Daily Devotions for Sunday 13th March, 2022

Second Sunday of Lent

Communion Sunday at LK

Morning

Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from the Living God

Reading : ROMANS 1 verse 15

Meditation : take time to consider these words on this Sunday.
Eager to preach the Good News!

What words or images stay with you?
Where has God placed you to share His Good News about Jesus?

And then pray in response to Paul’s words
Praying for someone to tell the Good News today!

In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Midday

Pray the Lord’s Prayer as your midday prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Your Name.
Your kingdom come
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
Now and for ever
Amen

Evening

Reading : read these words again from ROMANS 1 verse 15
Reflect on the words and images and then Pray in response at the end of your day

O LORD, our God
We bring our evening sacrifice of praise to you
For who you are
As we acknowledge You our Help even this day.
As we name others in need
As we pray for the Church in all corners of our world
To sing and speak of Jesus!
In His saving name, Amen.

Sunday Evening Prayer with Others

As we journey through Lent – with God – together – you may want to revisit today’s Daily Devotions from ROMANS 1 verse 7 – as we consider the Good News of Jesus

We PAUSE with the Lord in prayer

We REJOICE in the blessings He has given this Sunday

We ASK for His presence, peace and strength – for ourselves and for others in our world at this time

We YIELD – say Yes – to His Kingdom ways for tomorrow

Pause to Pray for Others

On this first Sunday in Lent…as the nation and the world wrestles with the virus and vaccine supplies…and the crisis in Ukraine is a major concern before us in our world … you are invited to pause and continue to pray with others in our city and across the nation…to the LORD our God, our Father God.

You are encouraged to continue to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus – in our community, in our nation and in our world – and for all those in need on our Church Prayer List at this time – and for parts of the world in turmoil at this time

For family and friends and neighbours

For Church leaders in Ukraine and Russia and other nearby countries at this time

For NHS and Care Home staff across the nation

For our country and world leaders at this time

Thy Kingdom Come at Midday

As a Church we were part of the global prayer venture – Thy Kingdom Come.

This prayer continues around the world!
Thy Kingdom Come 2022 prayer venture will be running 26 May – 5 June.

Each Sunday at Midday we will re-visit one of the 11 daily themes….and this time we revisit the children’s videos with the Cheeky Pandas!
This week it is the theme of ADORE – as we are encouraged to bring our songs and prayers of adoration to God!

Evening

Reading : read this one verse again – ROMANS 1 verse 7
Reflect on all that is said here and then Pray in response to this God of grace and peace

O LORD, our Great God,

As we name before you those we are concerned about.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
