We pray God’s blessing on work of the Scottish Bible Society.

O LORD, hear our prayers and bless them all in the ministry done to bring your word to others.

 

Evening

Reading: read the verses again from ROMANS 8 verses 1-4.

Reflect and then pray in response to our God.

 

LORD God, merciful God, our God, hear our evening prayers.

Thank You for all you have provided this day,

Thank You for banishing sin to the flesh so we can be set free in Your Spirit.

Teach us how to share this with others, telling them of the wonders of Jesus.

Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Jesus, Saviour and Lord

Reading: ROMANS 7 verses 14-25.

Meditation: as we pause with God today, we consider these words and events…

Desire to do good.

… and then respond in prayer with Him.

 

Lord, as I start today, be with me in each step and help direct me away from my sinful nature.

Help me to do the good that you ask me to do.

Take time to listen for God to speak with you at this time of day

Ask, seek, knock….hear!

Father God, I knock;

Father God, I seek;

Father God, you answer.

Thank you.

 

Evening

Reading: ROMANS 7 verses 14-25.

Read the verses again – reflect and then pray to the LORD our God.

 

Lord, as I end this day, forgive me if/when my sinful nature was in control.

Help me to do better tomorrow.

Help me to live under Your direction and light.

God of grace and mercy, gift those spreading your word with the inspiring words to open hard hearts.

Reading: read these verses again from ROMANS 7 verses 7-13.

Reflect and then pray to this God in response.

 

Thank You Lord, that you have made known to us the trap of sin.

Thank You that you have provided for us salvation,

That we can rejoice in the freedom of Your victory.

So we bring our evening words of prayers to You, in the confidence that you will answer our call.

Reading: ROMANS 7 verse 1-6.

Meditation: we take the time with God to consider these particular words on this Sunday morning.

Freedom from old sinful nature?

What do these words mean for you today?

And then we pray to the Father.

 

Freedom awaits us, we only need to ask, seek, knock… believe.

And you will answer and deliver us.

Pray the Prayer for the Month as your own midday prayer

 

Father, you have freed us. 

Jesus, you have died for us. 

Holy Spirit, you live in us. 

Father, we offer ourselves to you. 

Jesus, through You we die to sin.  

Holy Spirit, thank you for life and peace.

Reflect… and then Pray to this God of ours as we step into a new week – together – with him.

 

O LORD, hear our evening prayers we ask.

We thank You for our freedom.

We believe and trust in you,

Display Your mighty works for all to see and believe.

Use us as Your instrument, LORD, to share Your promise of freedom.

Reading: ROMANS 6 verses 15-23.

Meditation: as we pause with God, we take the time to consider theses verses…

Dead to Sin.

Alive in Christ!

 

…And then Pray to Him.

Praise to Jesus, our Lord!

We have been given freedom from our sinful master through Your sacrifice.

We make You the master of this day.

We could never have paid the prices of eternal life,

Thank You that you give it freely.

Help us honour that gift, and You in our actions and thoughts today.

In Your name, amen.

 

Midday

Pray the Lord’s Prayer as your own midday prayer

 

Our Father, who art in heaven

Hallowed be Your Name.

Your kingdom come

Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread

And forgive us our sins

As we forgive those who sin against us.

Lead us not into temptation

But deliver us from evil.

For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory.

Now and for ever

Amen

This is our God! The God who gives the victory over sin.

Let us resist the temptation around us.

Let all we do today bring glory to Your name.
