Morning:
Reading: 1 SAMUEL Chapter 16.
Meditation: we take time with God to consider these particular words on this Sunday morning.
“Do you come in peace?” … “Yes, in peace”
And then we pray to Father God in response, humbly, honestly.
Heavenly Father, Prince of peace,
we ask You to fill us with Your peace this morning.
Calm our worries, extinguish our pain,
let Your peace emanate from us to all we meet.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
Midday:
Pray the words of the Prayer for the Month as your own prayer
Father God, provider and protector,
we cry to You with our deepest desires.
Then listen to Your response.
Help us discern Your voice,
and trust in Your deliverance.
When we battle against our foe,
You are all the armour that we need.
With you as our shield and sword,
we cannot fail.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
Evening:
Read these verses again from 1 SAMUEL chapter 16.
Reflect and then pray to this God of ours as we step into a new week – together – with Him.
Lord Jesus, You are the heart of us.
You see through all the trimmings of our earthly life.
Your judgement is pure and true.
Help us look on those around us, as You look on us,
passed the outward outfit to the soul beneath,
with love, and mercy, and compassion.
In Your name, amen.
