Meditation: as we pause with Jesus, we take time to consider these words.
- Pathway to peace
And then pray to this God.
Holy Father, Ruler of all,
your heart must break over the turmoil in this world,
When your people hurt each other,
please intervene.
Surround those in power with humble advisors.
Let the wisdom of you alone be witnessed on this Earth.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
Midday:
Pray the words of the Lord’s Prayer as your own prayer today.
Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the Kingdom,
the power and the glory, forever.
Amen.
Evening:
Read the verses again from 2 SAMUEL 19:1-8.
Reflect and pray in response to what you read.
Lord Jesus, our wonderful counsellor,
show us those you are grieving.
Fill us with compassion to support those in pain.
Provide us with the correct words and actions,
to hold them up in their distress.
We praise you for this provision,
in your name, amen.
