Reading: PSALM 86
Morning:
Reading: PSALM 86.
Meditation: as we pause with Jesus, we take time to consider these words.
“When I am in distress, I call to you, because you answer me.”
And then pray to this God.
Heavenly Father, our rock, our fortress and our salvation,
we call to you this morning.
Not because we are in distress, but because you are faithful.
No one is as faithful as you.
You have never, and will never let us down.
We bring both our joy and our sorrow to your door this morning,
take our sorrow from us and magnify our joy.
We take only our joy with us and sing praise to you this day.
In Jesus name, amen.
Midday:
Pray the words of the Lord’s Prayer as your own prayer today.
Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the Kingdom,
the power and the glory, forever.
Amen.
Evening:
Read the verses again from PSALM 86.
Reflect and pray in response to what you read.
Lord, you are compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in love and faithfulness.
We reflect on this day,
looking for a sign of strength and your goodness.
We are often too busy to notice you in this world.
Open our eyes to your glorious works,
that we may grow closer to you.
In Jesus name we pray, amen.
