Reading: 2 SAMUEL 21:1-14
Morning:
Reading: 2 SAMUEL 21:1-14.
Mediation: pause with God this morning. Prayerfully consider these words written here.
“What shall I do for you? How shall I make atonement so that you will bless the Lord’s inheritance?”
And then turn to pray to God.
Heavenly Father, all praise to your name!
We enter through the gates of your kingdom,
not because we have made atonement for our wrongs,
but simple to ask, what shall I do for you, Lord?
You have gifted us redemption,
at not cost to ourselves.
We thank you, and devote our lives to you.
What shall I do for you, Lord?
For you have done everything for me.
We lift our voices to you,
then wait patiently for your reply.
In the name of your Son, our Saviour, Jesus, amen.
Midday:
We pray God’s blessing on those mourning the loss of a loved one.
Bring comfort and peace, walking each step until we reach joy again, amen.
Evening:
Read the verses again from 2 SAMUEL 21:1-14.
Reflect and then pray to the LORD our God.
Lord Jesus, our redeemer,
we worship you, this evening, our risen King!
We reflect on the promises we have made.
Which have we kept and fulfilled?
On which have we reneged and broken?
Show us the path to reconciliation.
You made and kept the greatest promise:
salvation to all.
Help us to be more steadfast in our action,
an encouragement to others,
and an example of your perfect and reliable nature.
in your name we pray, amen.
