Reading: 2 SAMUEL chapter 20
Morning:
Reading: 2 SAMUEL chapter 20.
Meditation: as we pause with God today, we consider these truths.
- Rebellion
And then we take the time to respond in prayer with Him – asking, seeking, knocking
Lord God, our warrior King,
we stand in your army this morning.
We open our ears only to your commands,
for your sovereignty is true.
We seek reassurance that our allegiances are just.
But that in our dealings with the opposition,
we should mercy and grace,
not anger or vengeance.
In your name, amen.
Midday:
Take time to listen for God to speak with you – ask, seek, knock – hear!
We are here Lord, we knock, we seek, we hear, amen.
Evening:
Read the words again from 2 SAMUEL chapter 20.
Reflect and then pray in response to our God.
Lord Jesus, you could us as family,
help us act with familial loyalty that is exampled by you.
Where there are rifts,
in families, between friends, colleagues or countries,
extend your power into those situations.
Let villainous behaviour be purified by the power of your Holy Spirit.
We invite that same Spirit into our hearts this evening,
to refine us, to renew us,
to raise us up to you, in worship.
In your name, amen.
