Reading: 2 SAMUEL 21:15-22
Morning:
Reading: 2 SAMUEL 21:15-22.
Meditation: consider this passage as this new day begins.
- Support in battle
And then respond in prayer to this God, our God.
Lord God, our just and mighty leader!
We are bombarded with news of wars each day,
and sometimes feel that the battles within our lives
are too terrible to fight and win.
Have we continued to fight in our own strength?
Yes? No?
Now, it is your leadership we look to,
your support we rely on
when the battles start to overwhelm us.
Lord God, we robe ourselves in your righteousness,
and let your divine strength fight for us.
For this, we lift our voices to you in praise, amen.
Midday:
We pray God’s blessing on someone you spoke with this week.
Let those we have met know the touch of your peace and love, amen.
Evening:
Read the verses again from 2 SAMUEL 21:15-22.
Reflect on all that is said here and then pray to this God we believe in.
Lord Jesus, friend, brother, Saviour,
we spend this time in reflection.
When have we let someone else battle alone?
Bring to our minds this evening,
the name/image of someone you want us to assist.
We will put on the armour of your Spirit and join you in battle.
We battle against the darkness in this world,
to bring light to those in despair.
We will fly the banner of your victory high,
exalting your name, amen.
