Morning:
Reading: PSALM 112
Meditation: as we pause with Jesus, we take time to consider these words and truths again.
“They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.”
And then pray to our God.
Holy Father, protector of our hearts,
it is in you that we trust.
Being your child does not give us an exemption to pain,
for your son, our Lord Jesus, suffered greatly.
But it is through your loving salvation,
that we need not fear,
as you are with us always.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
Midday:
Pray the words of the Lord’s Prayer as your own prayer today.
Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the Kingdom,
the power and the glory, forever.
Amen.
Evening:
Read the verses again from PSALM 112.
Reflect and pray in response to what you read.
Lord Jesus, friend to the needy.
Help us be more like you.
Show us where we can change.
Show us how to use your gifts for the good of others.
Use us in this world, to show your light in the darkness,
an example of grace, compassion and righteousness.
To you we pray, amen.
