Bible Verse for the Week and Sunday Morning Reflection

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners.

Isaiah 61 verse 1

Third Sunday in Advent

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from the Living God

Reading : ISAIAH chapter 55
Meditation : take time and consider this passage this particular Sunday morning.
God’s Offer
Come!
Buy
Listen
Turn
Pray
Joy!

What does this offer mean for you today?
Which offer will you receive for your life?

And then pray in response – using these offers as you turn to prayer
Come to Him with open arms
Naming others known to you seeking spiritual life, living water, joy…

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Midday
Pray the Lord’s Prayer as your midday prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Your Name.
Your kingdom come
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
Now and for ever
Amen

Evening
Reading : read these particular verses again from ISAIAH chapter 55
Reflect on the truths behind the words and then Pray in response to this God
Ask….Seek….Receive….

O LORD, hear our many evening prayers we ask
As we thank you for the blessings of this Sunday
As we believe and trust in you
As we name others seeking you
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Bible Verse for the Week and Sunday Morning Reflection

Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.

Isaiah 43 verses 18 and 19
