Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God

Reading : LUKE 10 verses 1-12
Meditation : take time to consider what these verses teach us about fasting.
Jesus sends out
What are you challenged and encouraged by this morning?
Where is Jesus sending you today?

Then take the time to Pray to this Jesus, who send us out in the power of the Holy Spirit
Praying for those you will meet or talk with today

Pray God’s blessing on Dougie Robertson, pioneer leader at Gracemount
O LORD God, have mercy on him and hear our prayers this day we ask.

Evening
Reading : read these verses again from LUKE 10 verses 1-12
Reflect on the words…. And then pray to this Jesus who has sent you today

Hear our evening prayers, O God, as this day ends.
We believe and trust in You and lay ourselves before You.
As we name those we met or talked with today

Jesus anointed.
A sinful woman.
What words stays with you?
What is God teaching/reminding you about Himself?

Then pray in response to this God of ours
Pray with confidence
Pray with honesty
Pray with humility

Pray God’s blessing on the leaders of the Big Idea Group of churches
O LORD, hear our prayers and bless them all real good we ask.

Evening
Reading : read the verses again from LUKE 7 verses 36-50
Reflect on the words you read and then pray in response

LORD God, gracious and holy God, our God, hear our evening prayers
As we thank you for your mercy this day
As we thank you for your Church worldwide
Sinners saved

Evening Prayer with Others

As we journey through this week….. with God – together – you may want to revisit today’s Daily Devotions from LUKE chapter 2 verses 39-52 – as we consider TELLING OTHERS THE GOOD NEWS about Jesus through 2023.

We PAUSE with the Lord in prayer as the day closes

We REJOICE in the help and blessings He has given this particular Wednesday – to us and to others

We ASK for His presence, peace and strength – for ourselves and for others in our church family and our nation and in our world at this time – especially prayerfully supporting the people of Sudan, Yemen, Ukraine and other parts of our world in deep need at this time

We YIELD – say Yes – to His Kingdom ways for tomorrow

O LORD, give blessing and hear our prayers we ask this day.

Reading : read this passage again from LUKE 2 verses 39-52
Reflect on the events you have read and then pray in response – to this God, Father God

LORD God, our Heavenly Father,
God who deserves our thanks
Our strength and fortress and loving God,
Hear the evening prayers of your people
As we name others in our family – young and old.
