Morning:
Reading: PSALM 89:1-18.
Meditation: consider these particular words this new morning.
“They rejoice in your name all day long,”
And then respond in prayer to this God, our God.
Lord God Almighty,
we are blessed to be counted among your people.
Let the glory of your throne accompany us all day.
As we go about our lives,
both big and small activities,
let us rejoice in your name in all we do.
We commit this day to you,
we walk in your light with each step.
To your exalted throne we pray, amen.
Midday:
We pray God’s blessing on churches across Edinburgh.
Bring unity and love to the work of your churches in this city, amen.
Evening:
Read the set verses again from PSALM 89:1-18.
Reflect on what is said here and then pray.
Our Lord, our King,
we still ourselves in your radiance this evening.
We look back on this day and reflect.
Have we recognised your works?
Have we acknowledged your presence with us?
We thank you for the love and faithfulness you give to us.
Your power is greater than we can imagine or understand.
Forgive us when we presume to know what is better.
Please bless us with the patience to wait for your answers and actions.
To you we rejoice, amen.
