Daily Devotions for Saturday 24th February, 2024

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : JOSHUA chapter 23

Meditation : take the time to consider these words of Joshua this Saturday morning.
Joshua’s farewell address

Which words stay with you as your day starts?
What is God teaching you about Himself today?

And then take time to Pray with your own words in response to this God

Amen we pray together this new day

Midday
Pray the Lord’s Prayer as your midday prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Your Name.
Your kingdom come
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
Now and for ever
Amen

Evening
Reading : read the verses again from JOSHUA chapter 23
Reflect on the words…. and then Pray in response to what you have read
This is our God! The God who gives blessings to His people

Sing hymns of praise to the LORD;
play music on the harp to our God.
He spreads clouds over the sky;
he provides rain for the earth
and makes grass grow on the hills.
He gives animals their food
and feeds the young ravens when they call.
His pleasure is not in strong horses,
nor his delight in brave soldiers;
but he takes pleasure in those who honour him,
in those who trust in his constant love

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Evening Prayer with Others

As we step into the weekend….. with God – together – you may want to revisit today’s Daily Devotions from JOSHUA chapter 20 – as we consider BEFORE THE GOOD NEWS – GOD’S PLAN BEGINS through 2024.

We PAUSE with the Lord in prayer as the day closes….

We REJOICE in the help and blessings He has given this particular Friday – to us and to others

We ASK for His presence, peace and strength – for ourselves and for others in our church family and our nation and in our world at this time – especially prayerfully supporting the people of Ukraine, Israel, Gaza, Yemen and other parts of our world in deep need at this time

We YIELD – say Yes – to His Kingdom ways for tomorrow
