Thy Kingdom Come – at Midday

As a Church we were part of the global prayer venture – Thy Kingdom Come.

This prayer continues around the world!

Each Sunday at Midday we are re-visiting one of the 11 daily themes….and this time we revisit the seventh theme of HELP FORas we pause with God and watch and listen to a lovely short reflection….

Daily Devotions for Sunday 31st July, 2022

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from the Living God

Reading : ISAIAH chapter 35.

Meditation : take time and consider this chapter this particular Sunday morning.
The Road of Holiness.
What is God teaching/reminding you today?
What is your response to Him?

And then pray in response – using some of the words as you turn to prayer

In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Midday
Pray the Lord’s Prayer as your midday prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Your Name.
Your kingdom come
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
Now and for ever
Amen

Evening
Reading : read these particular verses again from ISAIAH chapter 35
Reflect on the words and images and then Pray in response to this God

Praise him, kings and all peoples,
princes and all other rulers;
young women and young men,
old people and children too.
Let them all praise the name of the LORD!
His name is greater than all others;
his glory is above earth and heaven

O LORD, hear our evening prayers of praise we ask
As we thank you for the blessings of this Sunday
As we believe and trust in you
As we pilgrimage into a new month
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Saturday Evening Prayer with Others

As we step into Sunday – with God – together – you may want to revisit today’s Daily Devotions from ISAIAH chapter 34 – as we continue to consider the GOOD NEWS about Jesus through 2022

We PAUSE with the Lord in prayer as the day closes

We REJOICE in the blessings He has given this day – to us and to others

We ASK for His presence, peace and strength – for ourselves and for others in our world at this time

We YIELD – say Yes – to His Kingdom ways for tomorrow

Daily Devotions for AUGUST 2022

A voice of one calling:
“In the wilderness prepare the way for the LORD;
make straight in the desert a highway for our God”

Isaiah 40 verse 3

During 2022 we have been looking daily at the theme of GOOD NEWS as we journey with Paul through his letter to the ROMANS – and pausing at our times of Midday Devotion to pray for others in our church family, our city and our world.

In July and August, as we pause for summer, we look at the Good News that came through ISAIAH.

We are all encouraged to listen for God’s voice and make our response as we journey together in our ‘rhythm of devotion’.

These Devotions are but one way to feed on God’s Word in the morning, at midday, in the evening… to pray with Him continually through the day and even to share with others the treasures or hurdles you discover.
The Church website and Facebook page (even on a handy mobile) provide a fuller daily devotional page. However it all follows the pattern below which the information provided fits into, based on the Kirk’s origins of the Celtic and Northumbrian traditions
which we started as a church family in 2015.
