Evening Prayer with Others

As we journey through this week….. with God – together – you may want to revisit today’s Daily Devotions from LUKE chapter 2 verses 39-52 – as we consider TELLING OTHERS THE GOOD NEWS about Jesus through 2023.

We PAUSE with the Lord in prayer as the day closes

We REJOICE in the help and blessings He has given this particular Wednesday – to us and to others

We ASK for His presence, peace and strength – for ourselves and for others in our church family and our nation and in our world at this time – especially prayerfully supporting the people of Sudan, Yemen, Ukraine and other parts of our world in deep need at this time

We YIELD – say Yes – to His Kingdom ways for tomorrow

Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Three in One

Reading : LUKE 2 verses 39-52
Meditation : consider all that is said here as your day starts.

The boy Jesus.
As you imagine all that happens here in these events,
What stays with you?

Then turn to pray to Father God in response
Naming others in your family circle before Him

In Jesus’ name, Amen

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on the Church Family at Reid Memorial
O LORD, give blessing and hear our prayers we ask this day.

Evening
Reading : read this passage again from LUKE 2 verses 39-52
Reflect on the events you have read and then pray in response – to this God, Father God

LORD God, our Heavenly Father,
God who deserves our thanks
Our strength and fortress and loving God,
Hear the evening prayers of your people
As we name others in our family – young and old.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.

What do the events here mean to you at this time?
What is God saying to you from this passage?

Take time to Pray in response – including for others known to you seeking God at this time
Asking….seeking…knocking….for our world, our nation.

We can but worship you this day O LORD
As we thank you for sending Jesus from heaven to earth.
We can but ask for those in need or trouble this day O LORD
As we call out to you for our world in these days
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Take time to listen for God to speak with you at this time of day
Ask and seek and knock……and hear
Father God…thank you.

Evening

God of yesteryear and the God of today,
The God of joy and hope,

Hear our evening prayers
