Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Jesus

Day 2 of Thy Kingdom Come prayer venture
This is a global venture as Christians around the world
Pray for up to 5 friends to meet with Jesus
Pray for evidence of God’s Kingdom on earth
As it is in heaven
Pray for God’s Kingdom will to be done
In our lives
In our community where we live
In His Church
In our nation
In our world

Reading : ACTS 2 verses 42-47

Meditation : as we pause with God we take time and consider all that is said here
A people who praise!
What images or words stay with you?
What is God teaching/reminding you today?

And then Pray with words of Praise to this God of ours in response

Happy are those who have the God of Jacob to help them
and who depend on the LORD their God,
the Creator of heaven, earth, and sea,
and all that is in them.
He always keeps his promises;
He judges in favour of the oppressed
and gives food to the hungry

And so we bring our sacrifice of praise to you, our God Most High.
Amen – we pray together.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on refugees and migrants from Libya
Father God, hear our prayers and bless them real good we ask

Evening
Reading : read this passage again from ACTS 2
Reflect on the words written here and pray in response to the LORD our God

Praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD, my soul
I will praise him as long as I live;
I will sing to my God all my life.

In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Thursday Evening Prayer with Others

for a particular situation
for our world

Reading : ACTS 4 verses 13-22

Meditation : take time and consider these words about following JESUS this morning.
Which words stay with you?
Who is Jesus to you?

Then pause to pray to this God who sent Jesus

All your creatures, LORD, will praise you,
and all your people will give you thanks.
They will speak of the glory of your royal power
and tell of your might,
so that everyone will know your mighty deeds
and the glorious majesty of your kingdom.
Your rule is eternal,
and you are king forever.
The LORD is faithful to his promises;
he is merciful in all his acts.
He helps those who are in trouble;
he lifts those who have fallen.

And so we bring our sacrifice of praise to you, our God
This morning
As we name others we long to see meet with Jesus
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on God’s people in Libya
God of grace…hear our prayers and pour a blessing we ask on your Church

Evening
Reading : read these verses again from ACTS 4
Reflect on the words and images – at the end of your day
and Pray in response to this God – our God

People will speak of your mighty deeds,
and I will proclaim your greatness.
They will tell about all your goodness
and sing about your kindness.
The LORD is loving and merciful,
slow to become angry and full of constant love.
He is good to everyone
and has compassion on all he made.

O LORD, hear our evening prayers
As we thank you for sending Jesus
As we name others we long to meet with Him
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
