Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : JOHN chapter 17 verses 1-26

Meditation : take time to consider these words of prayer this morning
Jesus prays
For His disciples
For all believers

What is your prayer to this Jesus today?

And then Pray in response to what you read – to this God of ours.
Pray for God’s grace and help today for God’s Church worldwide

In Jesus’ name
Amen and Amen

Midday
Pray the Prayer for the Month as your own midday prayer

Prayer for November (look at John 16 v 33 & 17 vs 9-11)

O Lord you have said that we would have troubles in this world,
but, You have overcome the world.
Keep us, therefore, in your grace as you have promised.
Amen

Evening
Reading : read JOHN 17 verses 1-26
Reflect on these words of prayer…. and then Call on this God in your evening Prayer

LORD God, our God, receive our praise
For who You are
For your help and protection even today
And as we give it all back to you
May you continue to reach and save people
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done across our world
In our community, in our city.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Saturday Evening Prayer with Others

As we step into Sunday….. with God – together – you may want to revisit today’s Daily Devotions from JOHN 15 verses 9-17 – as we consider TELLING OTHERS THE GOOD NEWS about Jesus through 2023.

We PAUSE with the Lord in prayer as the day closes

We REJOICE in the help and blessings He has given this particular Saturday – to us and to others

We ASK for His presence, peace and strength – for ourselves and for others in our church family and our nation and in our world at this time – especially prayerfully supporting the people of Ukraine, Afghanistan, Israel and other parts of our world in deep need at this time

We YIELD – say Yes – to His Kingdom ways for tomorrow

Joy.

What are you encouraged and challenged by from God’s written Word?
Which words stay with you as your day starts?

And then take time to Pray in response to this Jesus

O Lord, Joy-Giver
We believe
Help our unbelief
Amen we pray together this new day.

Midday
Pray the Prayer for the Month as your own Midday Prayer

Jesus said, “I am the way the truth and the life……If you knew me
you would know the Father as well.”
We pray: – Lord abide in us as the Father does in you.
Amen

Evening
Reading : read the verses again from JOHN 15 verses 9-17
Reflect on the truths behind the words…. and then Pray in response to what you have read

As I thank you Lord
For the joyful blessings of today

Examine me, O God, and know my mind;
test me, and discover my thoughts.
Find out if there is any evil in me
and guide me in the everlasting way
