Daily Devotions for Sunday 13th October, 2024

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from the Living God

Reading : EZEKIEL chapter 34
Meditation : take time and consider this short chapter this Sunday morning.
Shepherds and Sheep

What does this passage mean for you today?
What is God teaching/reminding you about His ways?

And then pray in response – to this God
Come to God with a confidence
Giving thanks with others at this time

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Midday
Pray the Prayer for the Month as your own midday prayer

O LORD our God
The God of Ezekiel and Daniel
Yesterday, today and forever
Breathe upon us

O Spirit of our God
The God of Ezekiel
Yesterday, today and forever
Renew and Restore us

O Living LORD our God
The God of Daniel
Yesterday, today and forever
Empower and use us

O Holy Spirit of our God
The God of Ezekiel and Daniel
Yesterday, today and forever
Fill us afresh

Amen and Amen!

Evening
Reading : read these particular verses again from EZEKIEL chapter 34
Reflect on the truths behind the words and then Pray in response to this God

O LORD, hear our evening prayers we ask
As we thank you for the blessings of this Sunday
We confess our sins
As we believe and trust in you
As we name others seeking you
As we pilgrimage on into this new week
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Bible Verse for the Week and Sunday Morning Reflection

Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.”
Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.”

Sunday Evening Prayer with Others

As we step into a new week….. with God – together – you may want to revisit today’s Daily Devotions from MATTHEW chapter 9 verses 35-38– as we start to consider TELLING OTHERS THE GOOD NEWS about Jesus through 2023.

We PAUSE with the Lord in prayer as the day closes

We REJOICE in the help and blessings He has given this particular Sunday – to us and to others

We ASK for His presence, peace and strength – for ourselves and for others in our church family and our nation and in our world at this time – especially prayerfully supporting Turkey and Syria and all those who have travelled there to help

We YIELD – say Yes – to His Kingdom ways for tomorrow
