Why and How should I Pray?

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Father God
Reading : 1 THESSALONIANS 5 verses 16-26

Meditation : take time and consider what is said here by Paul
What is God saying to you today from His Word?
What is your response?

then pray in response as your day starts

(Pray your own words to the LORD God
In worship and thanks for what you have read,
In confession and need to be more like Jesus,
And for others known to you at this time in a hard place.)

O LORD of mercy, receive our morning praise and hear our prayers.
We ask in Jesus’ name.
Amen.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on those who feel God is not answering prayer
And for the Big Alpha course this evening
O LORD, hear our prayers and give grace and courage and patience we ask.

Evening
Reading : read the verses again
Reflect on these words at the end of your day
and Pray in response to this God of ours
O LORD God, hear our evening prayers in Jesus’ name,
As we return our thanks to you. Amen.

then pray in response….as a soldier servant of Jesus

O LORD our God,
Thank you for these words
And all they teach me.
Oh make me a warrior in Christ!
And may Your Church be a people
Who are ever in faithful prayer
And spreading abroad the Good News of the Gospel.
In Jesus’ name, Amen and amen!

Midday
Pray the Lord’s Prayer as your midday prayer

LORD our God, hear our midday prayers we ask.

Evening

Great and so worthy of praise.
We bow before You
As we bring our morning prayers
and lay our lives before You.

O LORD, God of mercy, hear our cry and pour out a blessing we ask!

Evening
Reading : read these verses again from Psalm 5
Reflect on all that is said and then Pray in response to this God
A Celtic Prayer
May God the Father circle us and keep us safe within His arms
May God the Son circle us and fill our hearts with love
May God the Holy Spirit circle us and inspire us with His grace

ThyKingdomCome #silence

Thy Kingdom Come was a prayer venture earlier this year in our land and across our world.

We have been pausing each Saturday morning at 8am to revisit the 11 themes raised by the leaders.

Today we are encouraged to take time out with God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – and spend silent time with Him…..listening…waiting…expecting….

Take the time now – or when you have the opportunity – to spend with God in His presence.
