WHY DID JESUS DIE?

Morning

Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit.

Reading : John 19 verses 16-37
Meditation : take time to consider these words.
Can you imagine the scene? What is God saying to you today from these verses?

Pray in response – with thanksgiving – for God’s sacrificial gift of His Son
LORD God,
Thank You for….so much!
Help me to understand again why Jesus died.
Hear my prayer of gratitude this morning
In Jesus’ name I ask.
Amen.

Evening

Reading : read the verses again from John 19

Take time to reflect…… and then Pray in response to our God …
O Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
Thank you for all that happened on the Cross and for all that You have done for me.
Thank You for today.
Thank You for loving me this much.
O God, hear our evening prayers.

Pray to hear and receive from Jesus.

Reading : Hebrews chapter 1
Meditation : consider all that is said here about Jesus.
What do you learn? What are you reminded about? What is God saying to you today?

Pray in response…in praise and worship…for Jesus

O God, our God,
Hear our prayers
And receive our morning praise and worship for Jesus.
In His name we ask- Amen.

Midday

Pray for Edinburgh and Scotland to experience God’s saving grace
And may Messy in the Park today at Craigmillar be a small part of that.

O LORD, hear our prayers and pour out your grace we ask. 

Evening

Reading : read the verses again from the book of Hebrews
Reflect on this Jesus….. and Pray in response to Him at the end of your day

Living Lord Jesus, hear our evening prayers.

Pray to hear and receive from the LORD God

Reading :  Colossians 1 verses 15-23
Meditation :  consider the truths Paul wrote here to other believers in Jesus.
What do they teach you? Who is this Jesus for you?

Then pray in response to Him your morning praise and prayer.
Amen.

Midday

Pray God’s blessing on your postman!
May each one know Jesus! Amen and Amen, O God.

Evening

Reading : read the verses again
Reflect on their meaning and then pray to know this Jesus more and more

O Eternal Lord, hear our prayers.

Meditation : take time and consider these verses and all they say about Jesus.
What do they teach you? What is God saying to you from them today?

Pray in response…using the words and truths in the verses

Pray God’s blessing on someone who works in a shop near your home
God of grace and mercy…and hope, hear our prayers. 

Evening

Reading : read the verses again
Reflect on the words and then Pray in response using the words as they relate to you.
Pray to be more like this Jesus!

Father God, hear my evening prayer and make it so I ask.

Meditation :  take time and consider what these words say to you about Jesus…
What is God saying to you today from this passage of the Bible?

Pray in response to this Jesus
Lord Jesus

Teach me what they mean for me
And how I should then live for You
Even this day.
Amen I pray.

Pray God’s blessing on Mums/Toddlers groups in our churches
O LORD God, hear our prayers and bless them all real good we ask.

Evening

Reading : read the verses again
Take time to Reflect …. and pray in response to this Jesus

Amen and Amen we pray, O Lord.

Meditation :   consider all that happens here!
What do the events teach you about Jesus? What is God saying to you here?

Then take time to Pray to this Jesus
Jesus,
Help me to believe and trust in you so much
Even today!
Amen and Amen.

Pray God’s blessing on Pram Praise as they meet at LK
Lord, bless them real good we ask!

Evening

Reading : read verses 14-27 again
Reflect on these words again.. and Pray in response at then end of your day

(Pray your own words at the end of this day
Words of worship and praise – for who Jesus is
Words of trust and thanks – for what Jesus has done today for you
Words of hope and longing – for what Jesus will do in and through you by His Holy Spirit
– even tomorrow)
