Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from the Living God

Reading : PSALM 57

Meditation : take time and consider these words for help this Sunday morning.
What words stay with you?
What encourages and challenges you today?
Look again at verses 1-3

And then pray in response to the LORD our God

O LORD our God,
Hear our cries
And have mercy we ask
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on those preaching in our land today
And for this Christian Aid Week
O LORD, God of mercy, hear our cry and pour out blessings we ask!

Evening
Reading : read these verses again from Psalm 57
Reflect on all that is said here by David and then Pray in response to this God
O LORD, our God of mercy,
Hear our evening prayers we ask
As we thank you for what we read
As we look back over our day
As we look ahead to tomorrow
As we name before you those we are concerned about.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : PSALM 56

Meditation : take time to consider these verses written here by David.
A psalm – of trust in God.
What does it mean for you?
What is God saying to you today about trusting Him?

And then Pray in response to what you read – to this God of ours.
Look again at verses 3=4.

Pray God’s blessing on those struggling in life at this time
God of grace and mercy hear our prayers and bless each and all real good we ask.

Evening
Reading : read this Psalm again
Reflect on this God…. and then Praise Him in your evening Prayer with verses 12+13
LORD God, our God, receive our praise
For who You are!
For all you have done for us!
And as we give it all back to you
May you continue to reach and save people
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done across our world
In our community, in our city.
In Jesus’ name. Amen!

Why did David show kindness to these men?
Is there someone God is asking you to show a kindness to today?

And then Pray in response – as God leads you

Pray God’s blessing on those who are feeling alone at this time
Father God, hear our prayers, have mercy and bless them real good we ask.

Evening
Reading : read the set passage again
Reflect on the words you have just read and pray in response
Lord Jesus, hear our evening prayers
And bring a blessing to those in need of an act of kindness we ask
