Pause to Pray for Others

On this second Sunday in Advent…as the nation and the world wrestles with new cases and vaccine supplies…and other points of crisis and concern… you are invited to pause and continue to pray with others in our city and across the nation…to the LORD our God, our Father God.

You are encouraged to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus – in our community, in our nation and in our world – and for parts of the world in turmoil at this time

For family and friends and neighbours

For Church leaders in our city at this time

For NHS and Care Home staff across the nation

For our country and world leaders at this time

Thy Kingdom Come at Midday

As a Church we were part of the global prayer venture – Thy Kingdom Come.

This prayer continues around the world!

Each Sunday at Midday we will re-visit one of the 11 daily themes….and this time we revisit the youth videos.
This week it is PRAY FOR – as we are encouraged to bring our prayers to Father God

Daily Devotions for Sunday 5th December, 2021

2nd Sunday in ADVENT

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit, on this Sunday

Reading : JAMES 4 verses 1-12

Meditation : as we pause with God we take time to consider these words from James today.
What is God teaching/reminding you?

Pray in response to what you have read and considered

In Jesus’ name
Today this is my morning prayer

Amen.

Midday

Pray the Prayer for the Month as your own midday prayer

O LORD our God
At the close of this year

We pause with you
And remember who you are

We rejoice
In all the blessings you have given

We ask
To lead and guide us through the days ahead

We yield
To your Kingdom will
On earth
As it is in heaven

In Jesus’ name
Amen and Amen.

Evening
Reading : read JAMES 4 verses 1-12
again as your day ends
Reflect on the truths in these words and then Pray to this God we believe and trust in

O Father, Son and Holy Spirit, hear our evening prayers
As we praise You for who You are
As we return our thanks to you for the blessings of this day.
As we name others in need before You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
