Daily Devotions for Wednesday 25th August, 2021

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God

Reading : PSALM 143

Meditation : take time to consider what these verses teach us
about the psalmist’s relationship with God in this Prayer for Help.
What are you challenged and encouraged by this morning?

Then take the time to Pray to this God, our God who helps.
Look again at verses 9-11 as you turn to prayer

I go to you for protection, LORD;
rescue me from my enemies.
You are my God;
teach me to do your will.
Be good to me, and guide me on a safe path.
Rescue me, LORD, as you have promised;
in your goodness save me from my troubles!

In Jesus’ Name
Amen!

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on the Estonian Bible Society
O LORD God, have mercy on this work and hear our prayers this day we ask.

Evening

Reading : read these verses again from PSALM 143
Reflect on the words…. And then pray to the LORD our God

I go to you for protection, LORD;
rescue me from my enemies.
You are my God;
teach me to do your will.
Be good to me, and guide me on a safe path.
Rescue me, LORD, as you have promised;
in your goodness save me from my troubles!

Hear our evening prayers, O God, as this day ends.
We believe and trust in You and lay ourselves before You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

On this Monday in August…as the nation continues to journey forward and the world wrestles with new cases and vaccine supplies…and other points of crisis and concern… you are invited to pause and continue to pray with others in our city and across the nation…to the LORD our God, our Father God.

You are encouraged to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus – in our community, in our nation and in our world

For family and friends and neighbours

For the land and people of Afghanistan

For NHS and Care Home staff across the nation

For our country and our national leaders at this time of decision making

Gathering for Prayer in August

Prayer is important to us as a Church Family.

You are invited to meet with others in the church family via Zoom for our monthly Gathering for Prayer next Tuesday evening – 31st August 7.30-8.30pm – when we will give thanks,
take time to wait and listen with God as we step into a new season of life and work together
and share in praying for others and each other.

Hope to see you there!
