Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from the Living God

Reading : MATTHEW chapter 1 verses 1-17

Meditation : take time to consider these words on this Sunday morning.
The Genealogy of Jesus.
What words or names stay with you?
What is God teaching/reminding you this morning?

And then pray in response,
Naming others known to you in need in your family at this time

In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Midday
Pray the Lord’s Prayer as your midday prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Your Name.
Your kingdom come
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
Now and for ever
Amen

Evening
Reading : read these verses again from MATTHEW chapter 1 verses 1-17
Reflect on the words and names and then Pray in response at the end of your day

O LORD, our Saviour,
We bring our evening sacrifice of praise to you
For who you are
As we acknowledge You our Help even this day.
As we name others in our family at this time

Come, Lord Jesus!

Hear my morning prayer
Hear the morning prayers of your people

In Jesus’ name.

Pray the Prayer for the Month as your own midday prayer

Dear Lord, help us to remember at this time of
Presents and Puddings,
Cards and Chocolates,
Paper hats and Limericks
With all the Glitz of Christmas celebration
That the King of Glory came Humbly into our world.
In Jesus’ name
Amen
