Drive-in cancelled

Dear all

Sadly we have had to cancel Sunday evening due to the Tier 3 restrictions still in place for Edinburgh this week.

There is a Celtic Carols with Celtic Worship online on Saturday evening that I’m sure will be well worth logging in to.

The link for that is now on the Big Idea Facebook page.

Please pray on for other churches in Big Idea at this time….and look forward to the January online event on Sunday 3rd at 7pm!

Thanks for now
Alastair Cameron

A Call to Evening Prayer

As part of the Kirk’s rhythm of prayer and devotion we invite people to pause and pray each day.

We offer a Daily Devotions Bible reading each morning and a focus for midday prayer.

At this time in your Wednesday you are invited to pause and pray as the day closes.

You may wish to revisit MATTHEW 25.1-13 and consider what Jesus said here.
You may need to name others before Father God.
You may want to be still with God as you look back on your day.

A Time to Pray with Others

At this time in your Wednesday and in these changing times you are invited to pause and pray with others in our city and across the nation…to the LORD our God, our Father God.

You are encouraged to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus

For family and friends

For all who travel by bus and tram in our city at this time

For NHS and Care Home staff in our city

For our country and our national leaders at this time

Daily Devotions for Wednesday December 9th, 2020

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Jesus

Reading : MATTHEW 25 verses 1-13

Meditation : consider these particular words this morning.
The Parable of the 10 Girls.
What words and images stay with you?
What is God saying to you today as your day starts?
Is there a response God is asking of you?

And then pray in response – to this God of ours
Looking again at verse 13 as you turn to prayer

O LORD our God,
Set us on guard!
In Jesus’ name,
Amen and amen!

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on families in our Church Family
LORD, hear our prayers and bless them real good we ask.

Evening
Reading : read these set verses again from MATTHEW 25
Humbly reflect on what you read and then pray in response
for yourself and for others in your family at this time

LORD God, Father God, hear our many different evening prayers.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
