Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Jesus

Reading : LUKE 10 verses 17-24
Meditation : take time and consider all that is said here about our God.
The 72 return
What images or words stay with you?
What is God teaching/reminding you?

And then Pray with words of Praise to this God of ours in response

Happy are those who have the God of Jacob to help them
and who depend on the LORD their God,
the Creator of heaven, earth, and sea,
and all that is in them.
He always keeps his promises;
He judges in favour of the oppressed
and gives food to the hungry

And so we bring our sacrifice of praise to you, our God Most High
As we step into this new day
Amen – we pray together.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on the groups at work across SEECOS
Father God, hear our prayers and bless them real good we ask

Evening
Reading : read this passage again from LUKE 10 verses 17-24
Reflect on the words written here and pray in response to the LORD our King.

Praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD, my soul
I will praise him as long as I live;
I will sing to my God all my life.

As I look back on my day
And step into tomorrow

Meditation : take time and consider all that happens here.
A storm calmed.
Jesus.
What images or words stay with you?
Is there a storm you need Jesus to calm?

And then pray in response – as your day starts
Naming others in a storm at this time

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray God’s blessing on the Presbytery of Edinburgh and Lothians
Father God, hear our prayers and bless them real good we ask

Evening
Reading : read this passage again from LUKE 8 verses 22-25 – in another version?
Reflect on the words and images here and pray in response to this Jesus.

O LORD, hear our evening prayers
As we return our thanks to you
For all you have done for us
We believe
Help our unbelief
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Evening Prayer with Others

As we step into the weekend….. with God – together – you may want to revisit today’s Daily Devotions from LUKE chapter 4 verses 1-15 – as we consider TELLING OTHERS THE GOOD NEWS about Jesus through 2023.

We PAUSE with the Lord in prayer as the day closes

We REJOICE in the help and blessings He has given this particular Friday – to us and to others

We ASK for His presence, peace and strength – for ourselves and for others in our church family and our nation and in our world at this time – especially prayerfully supporting the people of Sudan, Yemen, Ukraine and other parts of our world in deep need at this time

We YIELD – say Yes – to His Kingdom ways for tomorrow

Meditation : take time to consider these verses this morning
Jesus is tempted.
Three times.
What words stay with you?

Then take time to Pray for strength and victory over temptation

In Jesus’ name.
Amen and Amen – we pray together.

Pray God’s blessing on those on our Church Family prayer list.
Father God, hear our prayers, have mercy and give help we ask

Evening
Reading : read these verses again from LUKE 4 verses 1-15
Reflect on the way God has led you over temptation
and pray in response to Him
and for others in a struggle at this time

LORD God, the God of help and protection,
Our God,
Hear our evening prayers
As we return our sacrifice of praise for who you are
And your help even this day
As we bring ourselves and our world to you at the end of this day.
