Daily Devotions for Sunday 12th March, 2023

3rd Sunday in Lent

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from the Living God

Reading : PSALM 8
Meditation : take time to consider these words on this Sunday in Lent.
God’s Glory.
Man’s place in Creation.

What words or images stay with you?
What is God teaching/reminding you this morning?

And then pray in response,
With words of praise to our God
With humble words of service to our God

In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Midday
Pray the Prayer for the Month as your own midday prayer

Dear Lord,
Some of us come to the season of Lent
with an attitude or practice of self denial
to remind us of your 40 days fasting in the desert.
Whether or not we each do this,
please help us all to use this time
to prayerfully examine our way of life and our commitment to You.
Amen

Evening
Reading : read these verses again from PSALM 8
Reflect on the words and images and then Pray in response at the end of your day

O LORD, our Great God,
God of true Glory,
We bring our evening sacrifice of praise to you
For who you are
As we acknowledge You our Help even this day.
As we name others in need
As we pray for the Church in all corners of our world
To sing and speak of Jesus.
In His saving name, Amen.

Saturday Evening Prayer with Others

As we step into Sunday….. with God – together – in this season of Lent – you may want to revisit today’s Daily Devotions from PSALM 7– as we consider TELLING OTHERS THE GOOD NEWS about Jesus through 2023.

We PAUSE with the Lord in prayer as the day closes

We REJOICE in the help and blessings He has given this particular Saturday – to us and to others

We ASK for His presence, peace and strength – for ourselves and for others in our church family and our nation and in our world at this time – especially prayerfully supporting the people of Turkey and Syria, Ukraine and other parts of our world in deep need at this time

We YIELD – say Yes – to His Kingdom ways for tomorrow
