Upper Room day – time out with God

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Father God

Reading : 2 SAMUEL 15 verses 13-37

Meditation : consider all that happens here… at the start of your day.
What words stay with you? What is God saying to you from His Word?

And then Pray in response to what you have read
Taking time to wait before God as you pray

In Jesus’ name.
Amen.

Midday
Take time to listen for God to speak with you at this time of day
…..and respond to His voice….
Father God…thank you.

Evening
Reading : read the verses again from 2 SAMUEL 15
Reflect prayerfully on these events…. And then pray as your day closes
LORD God, our great God,
For all of today
I thank You,
Even for those things that have caused me fear and concern.
Help me to rest in Your unfailing love and on Your faithful Word
As I wait for tomorrow.
As I look around at this world
In these days.
Have mercy O Lord!
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from the LORD God, the Eternal One

Reading : 2 SAMUEL chapter 14 verses 25-33

Meditation : take time to consider these words about Absalom.
What is God saying to you today from His Word?
Is there an Absalom in your family?

Then take time to pause and Pray in response
And for a family member known to you at this time

LORD God,
Have mercy on us and our family we ask.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on the land and people of Pakistan
O LORD, hear our prayers at this time of day and have mercy we ask.

Evening
Reading : read the verses again from 2 Samuel 14
Reflect on the words and people mentioned here and pray in response…to Father God
O Living and True God, hear our evening prayers
And forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sinned against us even today.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Reading : PSALM 53

Meditation : take time to consider theses words this morning.
What is God saying to you today from his Word?
What are you encouraged and challenged by?
Look again at verses 2+3 this morning as you turn to God in prayer.

Pray in response to what you have read and considered

Pray for a church near your home to know Sunday blessings
O LORD God, hear and answer our prayers.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Evening
Reading : read Psalm 53 again as your day ends
Reflect on the truths beyond the words and then Pray to this God …our God
Including for our world in these days
O Father, Son and Holy Spirit, hear our evening prayers
As we praise You for who You are
As we return our thanks to you for the blessings of this day.
As we name others before You.
And as we call out for your saving grace to be poured out in our day.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
