Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit
Reading : JOEL chapter 2
Meditation : take the time to consider this passage…words of prophecy.
What words or images stay with you?
What is God saying to you this morning?
What is your response to God’s Word today?
Pray in response – to our God , the God of Joel 2
Looking again at verses 28-32
(Pray your own words at the start of this day
Of praise and worship
Of confession and trust
Of need)
O LORD our God,
God of wonders
Hear our prayers this day
As we lay ourselves before you
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Midday
Pray God’s blessings on the land and people of Australia
O LORD, have mercy on all we call out and pour rich blessings!
Evening
Reading : read the passage again prayerfully at the end of your day
Reflect….. and then pray to God in response to verses 28-32
Father God, hear my prayer this evening.
As I humbly name others before you.
As I call out to you for others in this day
As I lay myself and this world before you
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
At this time of your day you are invited to pause and pray
With the Daily Devotions for today
For others as well as yourself
As you look back on your Sunday
Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from the Living God
Reading : PSALM 93
Meditation : take time and consider these words this Sunday morning.
What words or images stay with you?
What encourages and challenges you today?
And then pray in response to the LORD our God who reigns over all!
Use verse 1 as you turn to pray in praise.
O LORD our God,
Good and majestic One,
Creator God,
Great and so worthy of praise.
We bow before You.
We lay our lives before You.
Oh fill us with your Spirit afresh
For of ourselves we get it so wrong
Today and every day!
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Midday
Pray God’s blessing on those preaching in our land today
O LORD, God of mercy, hear our cry and pour out blessings we ask!
Evening
Reading : read these verses again from Psalm 93
Reflect on all that is said here in this short psalm and then Pray in response to this God
O LORD, our Great Creator God,
hear our evening prayers we ask
As we thank you for what we read
As we look back over our day
As we look ahead to tomorrow
As we name before you those we are concerned about.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
At this time of your day you are invited to pause and pray
With the Daily Devotions for today
For others as well as yourself
As you journey into Sunday
As part of our rhythm of daily and weekly prayer and devotion as a Church, we are revisiting the themes of the recent Thy Kingdom Come prayer venture around Pentecost on a Saturday morning at 9.05am.
We are called today to take the time to pause and pray….in celebration!
For who God is!
For the gits He has given!
For His handiwork in Creation!strong>
We are also reminded today to pause and pray for the Kingdom of God to be evidenced anew in our day. We are invited to pray for up to 5 people – family, friend, neighbour, colleague – to meet with Jesus.
