Daily Devotions for Sunday 25th August, 2024

Covenant Sunday and Congregational Lunch

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from the Living God

Reading : ISAIAH chapter 54
We take time to consider these words about God and His People this new morning.
The LORD’s love for His People

What words stay with you as you step into today?

And then pray to this God in response
Naming others known to you seeking this faithful and perfect love

In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Midday
Pray the Prayer for the Month as your own midday prayer

O LORD our God
The God of the Prophets
Yesterday, today and forever
Meet with us

O LORD our God
The God of the Prophets
Yesterday, today and forever
Speak with us

O LORD our God
The God of the Prophets
Yesterday, today and forever
Lead us and use us

Amen and Amen

Evening
Reading : read these words again from ISAIAH chapter 54
Reflect on these words and then Pray in response at the end of your day

O LORD, our Great Hope,
We bring our evening sacrifice of praise to you
For who you are
As we acknowledge You our faithful God even this day.
As we name others in need
As we pray for the Church in all corners of our world
To live and speak of Jesus.
In His saving name, Amen.

Sunday Evening Prayer with Others

As we step into a new week….. with God – together – you may want to revisit today’s Daily Devotions from ISAIAH chapter 41 verses 9-14 – as we continue to pause in the Old Testament….

We PAUSE with the Lord in prayer as the day closes….

We REJOICE in the help and blessings He has given this particular Sunday – to us and to others

We ASK for His presence, peace and strength – for ourselves and for others in our church family and our nation and in our world at this time – especially prayerfully supporting the people of Israel, Gaza, Lebanon, Ukraine, Russia, Yemen and other parts of our world in deep need at this time

We YIELD – say Yes – to His Kingdom ways for tomorrow

So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
