Daily Devotions for Monday 15th November, 2021

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from the Holy Spirit

Reading : JEREMIAH 29 verses 10-14

Meditation : As we pause with God this morning…
Take time to consider these familiar words from the LORD.
What is God saying to you today?

And then take the time to Pray in response to what you have read
Pausing. Waiting. Asking. Seeking. Receiving.

I wait eagerly for the LORD’s help,
and in his word I trust.
I wait for the Lord
more eagerly than sentries wait for the dawn—
than sentries wait for the dawn.

In Jesus’ name we pray together
Amen.

Midday

Pray God’s blessing on the work of TEARFUND in our world
O LORD, hear our prayers and use this work real good we ask – even today.

Evening
Reading : read these words again from JEREMIAH 29
Reflect afresh on the words here
And then take the time to Pray in response to what you have read
Pausing. Waiting. Asking. Seeking. Receiving.

I wait eagerly for the LORD’s help,
and in his word I trust.
I wait for the Lord
more eagerly than sentries wait for the dawn—
than sentries wait for the dawn.

In Jesus’ name we pray together this evening
Amen.

Pause to Pray for Others

On this Sunday in November…as the nation and the world still wrestles with new cases and vaccine supplies…and other points of crisis and concern… you are invited to pause and continue to pray with others in our city and across the nation…to the LORD our God, our Father God.

You are encouraged to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus – in our community, in our nation and in our world – and for parts of the world in turmoil at this time

For family and friends and neighbours

For the Church across the world in these days

For NHS and Care Home staff across the nation

For our country and world leaders at this time

Thy Kingdom Come at Midday

As a Church we were part of the global prayer venture – Thy Kingdom Come.

This prayer continues around the world!

Each Sunday at Midday we will re-visit one of the 11 daily themes….and this time we revisit the youth videos.
This week it is THANKS – as we are encouraged to bring our prayers of thanksgiving at this time

Daily Devotions for Saturday 13th November, 2021

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : PSALM 51

Meditation : As we pause with God this morning…
We consider these particular words today.
David asks for forgiveness and cleansing.

And then Pray in response – looking again at verses 10-13

Spirit of the Living God
Fall afresh on me

Break me
Melt me

Mould me
Fill me

Use me
Even today

Spirit of the Living God
Fall afresh on me

Amen

Midday
Pray the Lord’s Prayer as your midday prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Your Name.
Your kingdom come
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
Now and for ever
Amen

Evening
Reading : read these verses again from PSALM 51 at the end of your day
Reflect on these words as you look back over the day
And then Pray in response as we step into Sunday

Spirit of the Living God
Fall afresh on me

Break me
Melt me

Mould me
Fill me

Use me
Even today

Spirit of the Living God
Fall afresh on me

Amen.
