Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God

Reading : MARK 6 verses 1-29
Meditation : take time to consider these words and events
Jesus is Rejected.
Jesus sends Disciples out.

What are you challenged and encouraged by this morning?
Where is Jesus sending you today?

Then take the time to Pray to this Jesus

I go to you for protection, LORD;
rescue me from my enemies.
You are my God;
teach me to do your will.
Be good to me, and guide me on a safe path.
Rescue me, LORD, as you have promised;
in your goodness save me from my troubles!

Send me
Where and when you will
Even today

In Jesus’ Name
Amen!

Pray God’s blessing on Open Doors at work in Latin America
O LORD God, have mercy on this work and hear our prayers this day we ask.

Evening
Reading : read these verses again from MARK 6 verses 1-29
Reflect on the words…. And then pray to the LORD our God

Sins are forgiven.

What is God teaching/reminding you about Himself?

Then pray in response to this God of ours
Pray with confidence
For yourself and for another

Pray God’s blessing on the staff of Open Doors across our world
O LORD, hear our prayers and bless them all real good we ask.

Evening
Reading : read the verses again from MARK 2 verses 1-17
Reflect on the words you read and then pray in response
Naming someone in need of a healing and forgiving touch

LORD God, merciful God, our God, hear our evening prayers
As we thank you for all you have provided this day
As we name others before you
In Jesus’ name, Amen

As we journey through this Holy Week….. with God – together – you may want to revisit today’s Daily Devotions from PSALM 59– as we consider TELLING OTHERS THE GOOD NEWS about Jesus through 2023.

We PAUSE with the Lord in prayer as the day closes

We REJOICE in the help and blessings He has given this particular Wednesday – to us and to others

We ASK for His presence, peace and strength – for ourselves and for others in our church family and our nation and in our world at this time – especially prayerfully supporting the people of Turkey and Syria, Ukraine and other parts of our world in deep need at this time

We YIELD – say Yes – to His Kingdom ways for tomorrow

Reading : PSALM 59
Meditation : consider all that is said here as your day starts.
Deliver me.
My strength, My fortress, My loving God.

What is your response to God’s written Word today?
This is our God we believe and trust in.

Then turn to pray to Him in response

O LORD our God,
Thank you for all these words
And all they teach me about who you are.
Receive my sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving
And help me keep my eyes upward this day
My strength
My fortress
My loving God
In Jesus’ name, Amen

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on those who are facing financial difficulties at this time
O LORD, give help and hear our prayers we ask this day.

Evening
Reading : read this passage again from PSALM 59
Reflect on the words you have read and then pray in response – to this God, our God

LORD God, our God,
God who deserves our thanks
Our strength and fortress and loving God,
Hear the evening prayers of your people
For we are indeed in need of rescue from this world
