Daily Devotions for Monday 2nd October, 2023

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : JOHN 8 verses 12-30
Meditation : take the time to consider this passage today as you journey into a new week
Who are you??

What words or images stay with you?
What is your response to this question about Jesus?

Pray in response – to this Jesus
Honestly
Humbly

Pray your own words at the start of this day
Of praise and worship
Of confession and trust
Of need – for yourself and others

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Midday
Pray God’s blessings on Cammy McKenzie and his family
O LORD, have mercy on each and all and give grace we ask

Evening
Reading : read the set passage again prayerfully at the end of your day
Reflect….. and then pray to God in response

Lord Jesus, hear my prayer this evening.
As I thank you for the blessings of this day
As I call out to you for others
As I lay myself and this world before you
Confessing my failures of this day
I believe, help my unbelief
Trusting you for tomorrow
Amen.

Sunday Evening Prayer with Others

As we step into a new month….. with God – together – you may want to revisit today’s Daily Devotions from JOHN 8 verses 1-11 – as we consider TELLING OTHERS THE GOOD NEWS about Jesus through 2023.

We PAUSE with the Lord in prayer as the day closes

We REJOICE in the help and blessings He has given this particular Communion Sunday – to us and to others

We ASK for His presence, peace and strength – for ourselves and for others in our church family and our nation and in our world at this time – especially prayerfully supporting the people of Ukraine, Libya, Morocco and other parts of our world in deep need at this time

We YIELD – say Yes – to His Kingdom ways for the week ahead

Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

As we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
Now and for ever
Amen
