Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Three in One

Reading : 1 JOHN chapter 1

Meditation : consider all that is said here by John as your day starts.
What encourages and challenges you?
What is your response to God’s written Word today?

Then turn to pray to God in response….looking again at verses 8-10

O LORD our God,
Thank you for all these words
And all they teach me.
Receive my sacrifice of praise
Forgive my sins
And cleanse me afresh
In Jesus’ name, Amen

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on your postman/woman
O LORD, have mercy and bless them we ask this day.

Evening
Reading : read this passage again from 1 John
Reflect on the words you have read and then pray in response – to this God, our God
LORD God, our God, God of life and light, hear the evening prayers of your people
For we are indeed in need of rescue from this world
In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Take time to listen for God to speak with you at this time of day
Ask and seek and knock……and hear
Father God…thank you.

Evening
Reading : read these verses again from James 5
Reflect…. and then Pray as your day closes
God of Elijah and James, and the God of today,
My God, our God,
Hear our evening prayers
As we name others before you at this time.
