Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit, on this Sunday

Pray in response to what you have read and considered
Ask Jesus for His help today to…..

Reading : read MATTHEW 28.16-20 again as your day ends
Reflect on the truths beyond the words and then Pray to this God …our God
Including for others known to you in our world at this time

O Father, Son and Holy Spirit, hear our evening prayers
As we praise You for who You are
As we return our thanks to you for the blessings of this day.
As we name others in our world before You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

You are invited to pause and pray with others in our Church Family at this time in your day as you prepare to step into Communion Sunday at Liberton Kirk

You may want to revisit the Daily Devotions Bible verses for today – MATTHEW 26 vs 36-46

You may need to name others in need known to you before Father God

You may want to be still in God’s Presence as your day closes

Pause to Pray with Others

On this particular Saturday…in this season of Lent…as the nation journeys through this further stage of Lockdown.. you are invited to pause and pray with others in our city and across the nation…to the LORD our God, our Father God.

You are encouraged to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus

For family and friends and neighbours

For all sports clubs in our villages and towns and cities at this time

For NHS and Care Home staff across the nation

For our country and our national leaders at this time of decision making

Thy Kingdom Come #prayfor

As part of God’s Church we have participated in the global prayer venture of Thy Kingdom Come each year. This runs during the 11 days between Ascension and Pentecost…..and this year it will happen May 13th-23rd.

Each Saturday at 12 noon we are continuing to ask and seek and knock on Heaven’s door…..’Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done’…..and to pray for up to 5 people we know to meet with Jesus and to experience God’s Kingdom reign in their lives.

This week we focus on the theme of PRAY FOR as we pause to pray with others in our nation and across the world.

We are encouraged to pause and take time with the LORD our God on this first Saturday in March 2021.

To Pray For those in need known to us at this time
To Pray For family and friends and neighbours
To Pray For our nation and our world in these times

Meditation : take time to consider these words this Saturday morning.
Jesus in Prayer to His Father.
What encourages and challenges you from this passage?

Pray in response to this Jesus

Lord Jesus
Thank you
That you came to earth from heaven
That you understand what it is to be human
That you know what it is
To be in a hard place
Help me
Even today
I ask
Amen.

Midday
Pray the Lord’s Prayer as your midday prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Your Name.
Your kingdom come
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
Now and for ever
Amen

Evening

Reflect prayerfully on the words ….. and then Pray in response
Especially for others who are in a hard place at this time

Spirit of the Living God, hear our evening prayers at the end of this day
And be with those we name before you.
