In this Christmas week….on this particular Tuesday….you are invited to pause and pray with others
A Prayer from the Church of England
At this time in your Tuesday and in these changing times you are invited to pause and pray with others in our city and across the nation…to the LORD our God, our Father God.
You are encouraged to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus
For family and friends and neighbours
For all in our church family at this time
For NHS and Care Home staff in our city
For our country and our national leaders at this time
In this Christmas week….on this particular Tuesday….you are invited to pause and pray with others at this time of the day
Upper Room day – time-out with Jesus
Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Father God
Reading : REVELATION chapter 5
Meditation : consider this passage – from John’s vision.
The Lamb opens the Scroll.
What is God saying to you today from this passage?
What is your response to Him today?
Take time to Pray in response to the LORD our God
“You are worthy to take the scroll
and break its seals and open it.
For you were slaughtered, and your blood has ransomed people for God
from every tribe and language and people and nation.
And you have caused them to become
a Kingdom of priests for our God.
And they will reign on the earth.”
Midday
Take time to listen for God to speak with you at this time of day
‘Thy Kingdom come’ Father God
LORD our God…thank you.
Evening
Reading : read the passage again from REVELATION 5
Reflect on John’s words written here…. And then pray to this God in response
O Great and Glorious One, hear our evening prayers,
As we return our thanks to you.
As we look back on our day
As we trust you for tomorrow – and beyond.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
