#Praise

As part of the Thy Kingdom Come prayer venture, today’s prayer theme is #Praise

We are called to give praise to the King of Heaven who reigns over all.   Psalm 99 is a helpful part of the Bible to do so!

As we pray….. may the eternal God receive our sacrifice of Praise.

#ToJesus

As part of the Thy Kingdom Come prayer venture, today’s prayer theme is #ToJesus.

We are encouraged to pray for 5 people we know to come to Jesus, to meet Him person-to- person and to begin a personal relationship with Him.

As we pray for them….. may God in His grace come to them.

Heart and Soul – this Sunday!

As the annual Assembly of the Church of Scotland starts this weekend in Edinburgh, so the Heart & Soul event in Princes Street Gardens will take place (1-6pm, with closing worship etc at 5pm).

There will be a fair numbers of tents – of all sizes – along the West and East Avenues – from churches and organisations and other groups.  It is more than interesting to make a visit!!

Once again Liberton Kirk will be there – this year in partnership with SEECAT, providing 4 prayer stations around the themes of a Cross of Thanksgiving, Justice & Peace, Prayer Tree and Work Place Chaplaincy. There will be information to help you pray with a clearer focus.
There will be opportunities to pray with others and be prayed with.

It would be good to see you – from 12 noon onwards – on the East Avenue, closer to the Mound!

UppeR RooM and Gathering for PRAYer

Are you able to visit this Tuesday – even for a few minutes?

The room above the Kirkgate Café becomes a quiet space each Tuesday from 7.30am to 7.3opm…..the Upper Room.

Come along when you you can… Take time out with God… Slow down…

There are Bibles, devotional materials, cushions, sofas, candles, a cross of thanksgiving, music and journals all available as aids…..but none are compulsory.

There are opportunities to share with others in devotional prayers and readings at 7.30am, 12 noon and 7pm.

This Tuesday we have an opportunity to pause and listen to Father God and consider all that happened at Saturday’s Focus Day…..what is God saying to us as a Church at this time?

** The Café below is open 9.30am – 2pm and 4.45-8pm for drinks, snacks, hot and cold food.

** In the evening there is the opportunity to gather together for prayer in the Kirk at 7.30pm for an hour or so.  This month we shall take time to listen together to God and bring our prayers for each other, His Church, our country and the world at the foot of the cross.

Church Prayer Gathering

  • Prayer works.
  • God answers prayer.
  • Prayer is a mystery.

The Early Church members came together to pray – often – and things happened!

And, ever since, followers of Jesus have gathered together to pray – to ask, seek, knock….and wait, listen, respond.

Tomorrow evening, we meet together in the Kirk at 7.30pm to pray.

We will wait, ask, listen, seek, respond and knock.

You are invited to be one of us.

We believe God will be there.
