Upper Room day

Morning

Pray to hear and receive from Father God

Reading : 1 Peter 2 verses 13-25
Meditation :   take time and consider what is being said and taught here –
and what God is saying to you and what He is asking of you….

then pray in response…to live to please God wherever you are day-by-day
(Pray your own words to the LORD God……..)
O LORD, hear our morning prayers.
Amen.

Midday

Take time to listen for God to speak with you – ask, seek, knock – hear!
Lord, thank you.

Evening

Reading : read verses 21-25 again

Reflect on these truths at the end of your day
and Pray in response to God, to be used by Him, for Him
O LORD, hear our evening prayers

Morning

Pray to hear and receive from Jesus

Reading : 1 Peter 2 verses 4-12
Meditation : take time to slowly consider these great verses….and what they mean to you today.
Is Jesus your Living Stone in life? Have you claimed all that verses 9+10 offer?
Are you putting verses 11+12 into practice?

– and then pray in response, as God leads you, for yourself and for others in Christ
O LORD our God,
Receive our praise!
You have done so much in Christ Jesus!
Move among us and our sinful world we ask
With Your grace and justice, mercy and forgiving love
And may we be careful
To give You all the praise and glory
As we see Your Kingdom come, Your will be done,
Lives changed – even ours!
Amen and amen!

Midday

Pray God’s blessing on Alpha groups being run or prepared in our churches at this time
O LORD of amazing grace, hear our prayers.

Evening

Reading : read all these verses again

Reflect on these truths about our Saviour God
and then pray with praise and worship in response!
LORD God, Father God, receive our many different prayers.

Pray to hear and receive from Father God

Reading : 1 Peter 1 verse 13 – chapter 2 verse 3
Meditation : consider these verses….are the words true for you and for me?

Pray in response – using the words of verses 15+16
Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
I believe in who you are,
Holy, Holy, Holy God.
Help my unbelief
And continue to work in me
For I am not there yet.
In Jesus’ Name

Pray for your church to know Sunday blessings!
Father God, hear our prayers 

Evening

Reading : read these verses again – especially 15+16

Reflect on the words…. and pray for other believers, not just for yourself
LORD God, our great God,
For all of today
We thank You.
As We put our trust and hope in You alone,
Even for those things that cause us fear and concern at the end of this day
Help us to rest in Your unfailing love and on Your faithful Word
And that You have not forgotten even me.
In Jesus’ powerful name, Amen.

Pray to hear and receive from the LORD God, the Eternal One

Reading : 1 PETER 1 verses 1-12
Meditation : take time to consider Peter’s great words of praise in these opening verses!

Pray in response – with praise to this God – and for the words to be a living reality for you
O LORD God
As we open our hearts to You this morning
In worship and praise
For all you have done in Christ Jesus,
Teach us more of Your truth
And bring these words to life
Even in and through our living sacrifice to you.
Amen and amen we pray together this new day.

Pray for those who feel everything is against them in life at this time
O LORD, hear our prayers! 

Evening

Reading : read Peter’s words again

Reflect on their truth and pray in response…with praise!
King of kings, receive our praise and hear our evening prayers.

Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit, who leads us into truth

Reading : 2 Timothy 4 verses 9-22
Meditation : take time to consider all those mentioned here by Paul,
in this part of the Bible

Pray in response – to be used by God wherever He sends you – even today!
LORD God,
Thank you for this part of the Bible.
Teach me and help me
And use me, even me,
Today and tomorrow and every day!
In Jesus’ name I ask.

O God, hear our prayers.

Reading : read verses 16-22 again

Reflect ….. and then Pray for your church leaders
O Father, Son and Holy Spirit, hear our prayers and bless them real good we ask.

Pray to hear and receive from Jesus.

Meditation : consider Paul’s words of testimony here

Pray around them for yourself at this time in your life
Father God,
Loving God,
Gracious God,
Thank you for all your rich blessings to even me.
Help me I ask
To fight the good fight
And keep on running the race in Christ Jesus,
