Call to Pray with Others

At this time in your Tuesday and in these uncertain times you are invited to pause and pray with others in our city and across the nation

You are encouraged to pray afresh for all those affected by the coronavirus in our nation and across the world

In particular for our country and our national leaders at this time as they make important decisions regarding the way forward and as we all adjust to the restrictions

Daily Devotions for Wednesday 7th October, 2020

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Jesus

Reading : PSALM 96

Meditation : consider these particular words this morning.
The LORD reigns!
What words and images stay with you?
What is God saying to you today as your day starts about Himself?

And then pray in response – to this God of ours
Looking again at verses 7-10 as you turn to prayer

O LORD our God,
Thy Kingdom come
Thy will be done
In this world we live in
In our nation
In our homes
In Jesus’ name,
Amen and amen!

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on the City Council in our own city
LORD, hear our prayers and bless them real good we ask.

Evening
Reading : read these set verses again from PSALM 96

Humbly reflect on what you read and then pray in response – for yourself and
for others in our world in these days

LORD God, Father God, hear our many different prayers.
We call out afresh – Thy Kingdom come
Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Daily Devotions for Tuesday 6th October, 2020

Upper Room day – time out with God

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Father God

Reading : PSALM 95

Meditation : consider all that is said here… at the start of your day.
The LORD is a Great King.
Which words stay with you?
What is God saying to you from His Word about Himself?

And then Pray these words as your own this morning

Come, let us sing to the LORD!
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come to him with thanksgiving.
Let us sing psalms of praise to him.
For the LORD is a great God,
a great King above all gods.
He holds in his hands the depths of the earth
and the mightiest mountains.
The sea belongs to him, for he made it.
His hands formed the dry land, too.
Come, let us worship and bow down.
Let us kneel before the LORD our maker,
for he is our God.
We are the people he watches over,
the flock under his care.

Amen!

Midday
Take time to listen for God to speak with you at this time of day
…..and respond to His voice….
Father God…thank you.

Evening
Reading : read the verses again from PSALM 95

Reflect prayerfully on these words…. And then pray as your day closes

LORD God, our great King,
For all of today
I thank You,
Even for those things that have caused me fear and concern.
Help me to rest in Your unfailing love and on Your faithful Word
As I wait for tomorrow.
As I look around at this world
In these days.
For I believe and trust in You
My King and my God.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
