Daily Devotions for Monday 1st November, 2021

Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : GENESIS 18 verses 16-33

Meditation : This morning we take time to consider these words and events from yesteryear.

Pray in response – taking time to ask in prayer for our city

Pray your own words at the start of this day
Of praise and worship
Of confession and trust
Of need – for yourself and our community

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Midday
Pray God’s blessings on your family and neighbours
O LORD, have mercy on all we call out and pour rich blessings!

Evening

Reading : read the passage again from GENESIS 18 at the end of your day
Reflect….. and then pause to pray for our city to God in response

LORD God, the LORD Almighty, hear my prayer this evening.
As I confess my sins this day
As I humbly name others before you.
As I lay myself and my city before you
In Jesus’ name. Amen.

A Call to Sunday Evening Prayer with Others

As your Sunday closes you are invited to pause and pray with others in our Church Family as we step into a new week and a new month

You may want to revisit the Daily Devotions for today from REVELATION 22 verses 6-21

You are encouraged to follow the pattern of A-C-T-S which many have found to be a blessing and a help

A doration … taking a few moments to bring your evening words of praise and worship to our God

C onfession … of the sins of this day

T hanksgiving … for the blessings of this day … and for the fact of Jesus’ return!

S upplication or Asking … for a situation…or another person in need at this time

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Pause to Pray for Others

On this last Sunday in October…as the nation and the world still wrestles with new cases and vaccine supplies…and other points of crisis and concern, including COP26 starting in Glasgow… you are invited to pause and continue to pray with others in our city and across the nation…to the LORD our God, our Father God.

You are encouraged to pray for all those affected by the coronavirus – in our community, in our nation and in our world – and for parts of the world in turmoil at this time

For family and friends and neighbours

For the Church in our world at this time – to be salt and light

For NHS and Care Home staff across the nation

For our country and world leaders at this time of decision making during COP26

Thy Kingdom Come at Midday

As a Church we were part of the global prayer venture – Thy Kingdom Come.

This prayer continues around the world!

Each Sunday at Midday we will re-visit one of the 11 daily themes….and this time we revisit the youth videos.
This week it is JESUS – as we are encouraged to focus on Him and tell others about Him!

his glory is above earth and heaven

O LORD, hear our evening prayers of praise we ask
