HOW DOES GOD GUIDE ME?

Morning

Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : Acts 10 verses 9-48
Meditation : take time and consider how Peter was guided!

And then Pray in response…to be open to the Spirit’s leading – however unexpected!
Spirit of God
Fall anew on me.
Break and melt and mould and fill me
All over again
From the inside out.
Guide my daily steps
At work, rest and play
Even this day I pray –
Even to the unexpected!
Amen…in Jesus’ Name.

Midday

Pray God’s blessing on Mortonhall Crematorium, especially those who work there….and those who use it this week.
God of grace and mercy…and hope, hear our prayers.

Evening

Read the events again from Acts 10.

Reflect on what happens and then Pray in response – to see and hear what God is doing!
Father God, hear my evening prayer.

Reading : John 10 verses 1-6
Meditation :  take time to consider these words of truth…and what they mean for you.

Pray in response to be a sheep following closely the Good Shepherd!
Lord Jesus
I read these words,
Teach me what they mean for me
And how I should then live for You
Ever closer,
Even this day.
   Amen I pray.

Midday

Pray God’s blessing on the Carer and Toddler Group at LK
O LORD God, hear our prayers and bless real good we ask.

Evening

Reading : read the verses again

Reflect on your Shepherd…. and pray in response
Amen and Amen we pray, O God

HOW DOES GOD GUIDE ME?

Morning

Pray to hear and receive from God, the Holy Spirit

Reading : Jeremiah 29 verses 10-14
Meditation :   consider the great truths in these verses….what is God teaching you?
What is God saying to you today?

Pray in response with praise to this God!
O God of Jeremiah so long ago,
Our God,
Help us to make these words we read
A living reality…day by day…today!
With the help of Your Holy Spirit within us
Leading and guiding us, step by step,
In Your great plans and purposes.
Amen we say together.

Midday

Take time to listen for God to speak with you – ask, seek, knock – hear!
Lord, hear our cry from deep within.

Evening

Reading : read verse 11 again

Reflect on its wonderful truth.. and Praise God in response!
(Pray your own words at the end of this day
Words of worship and praise – for who God is
Words of trust and thanks – for what God has done today for you
Words of hope and longing – for what God will do in and through you – even tomorrow)
Amen we pray together.

HOW DOES GOD GUIDE ME?

Pray to hear and receive from God our heavenly Father

Reading : Isaiah 30 verses 1-18
Meditation :  consider what is written here about God’s people not taking God’s guidance…
And yet the words of verse 18!

and then pray to be obedient to God’s words and teachings
(Pray humbly your own words in response to what you have read and meditated on )
In and through Christ Jesus alone we pray this morning, Amen.

Pray God’s blessing on the life and work of Central Church at Tollcross in our city
LORD, have mercy and hear our prayers.

Take time to reflect…….and then pray to this God
Father God, hear our prayers

Pray to hear and receive from Jesus.

Reading : Psalm 32 verses 8-10
Meditation : take time and consider what God is saying to you today from these verses

Pray in response to this loving and guiding God
LORD God of the psalmist,
My God,
Hear my prayer of response to what I have read and considered
And help me afresh to let you lead and guide me,
In Christ Jesus,
By the help of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

WHY and HOW DO I READ THE BIBLE?

Reading :  James 1 verses 19-27
Meditation :  consider these words about paying attention to what God says
as a follower of Jesus……..what do they teach you today?

Pray to the Lord Jesus in response
Lord Jesus and Saviour,
Hear my prayer
Even today
And help me to live truly for You
Above all others
In word and thought and action.
