WHY and HOW DO I READ THE BIBLE?

Morning

Pray to hear and receive from the Lord

Reading : Hebrews 4 verses 12 and 13
Meditation : consider carefully these challenging truths written to believers
many years ago……..what is God saying to you today?

and then pray in response to this God, who sees everything
Father God,
Hear my prayer this morning.
Teach me more of Your wondrous truths
As experienced by the early believers
And written in the Bible,
And make these words I read living and true for me and my life
In Jesus’ name I ask, Amen.

Midday

Pray a blessing from God on your neighbours as you name them before Him
O Lord, hear my prayer and let Your compassion abound 

Evening

Reading : read the verses again

Reflect on the words and pray your evening prayer of response…to be open to God speaking
LORD God, receive our evening prayer.

WHY and HOW DO I READ THE BIBLE?

Morning

Pray to hear and receive from God, the Faithful One

Reading : 2 Timothy 3 verses 16 and 17
Meditation : take time to consider these encouragingly good verses!
What is God saying to you today from them?

Pray in response over the truths of these words as they speak to you
O Lord my God,
Thank you for your living and written Word.
Teach me,
Rebuke and correct me,
Train and equip even me,
Today
And every day.
Amen and Amen and Amen.

Midday

Pray God’s blessing on someone who works in an office near you – or with you
Lord, hear our prayers 

Evening

Reading : read these 2 verses again

Reflect on their truth for your life and then pray in response
Father God, hear our evening prayers.

Pray to hear and receive from God

Reading : Ephesians 6 verses 10-20
Meditation : take time and consider what these words teach about Christian living
……There is a lot here!

Pray in response to this God who has provided such good armour
O LORD God,
Thank you!
Thank you!
Thank you!!
For all you have provided.
Help me to faithfully wear and use it well,
Even today.
Amen.

Pray God’s blessing on those who work in a shopping centre near you
O Lord, hear our prayer and make Yourself known to each one we ask

Evening

Reading : read verse 17 again

Reflect on its truth at the end of your day and then pray in response
Spirit of God, hear our prayers

Tuesday 4^th

WHY and HOW DO I READ THE BIBLE?

Morning

Pray to hear and receive from the God who keeps His word

Reading : John 20 verse 31
Meditation : consider these great words from John – what do they mean for you?
What do they teach you?

Then take time to Pray to this Jesus
– asking God to make each truth here a reality in your life at this time
(Pray your morning worship to this God in your own words
Words of thanks for His promises
In His Word, the Bible
And that they are real for you.
Give thanks for the gift of eternal Life
Through Christ Jesus, His Son)
Amen and amen we say together.

Pray God’s blessing on those who run and attend Pram Praise each month at LK
Lord, bless them we pray. 

Evening

Reading : read these words again from John

Reflect – and pray in response to the LORD God
God of truth, come into my prayer of praise and worship to You.
Thank you for today, and as I count my blessings
Help me to trust Your words more
And to open my life afresh to Your grace in Jesus, Name above all names.

Meditation :  consider how Jesus uses Scripture verses here…..
What is God saying to you today?

and then pray in response, with thanksgiving and trust in God’s Word
(Pray your own words in response to what you have read and meditated on )

Pray God’s blessing on the Art Group that meets at LK
LORD, have mercy and hear our prayers.

Reflect ….. and pray in response at the end of your day

Meditation : consider these words and how they apply to your life at this time

Then take time with God in prayer in response to what you have read

Reflect on their truth for your living and Pray in response
