Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Jesus

Reading : MATTHEW chapter 4 vs 1-11

Meditation : consider these particular words and events this morning.
What words and images stay with you?
What is God saying to you today as your day starts?
Is there a response God is asking of you?

And then pray in response – to this Saviour Jesus

O Lord and Saviour
Thank you
For these words
Oh help me
Help me
As I hear the Tempter
Even today
Amen we say together.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on the schools in the Liberton area
LORD, hear our prayers and bless them all real good we ask.

Evening
Reading : read these set verses again from Matthew 4
Humbly reflect on what you read and then pray in response – for yourself and
for others you have met during this day
LORD God, Father God, hear our many different prayers.
And bless each and all we name before you we ask.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Reading : MATTHEW chapter 3 vs 13-17

Meditation : consider all that happens here… at the start of your day.
Why was Jesus baptized?
What words stay with you? What is God saying to you from His Word?

And then Pray in response to what you have read
Taking time to wait before God

Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
I have read these words
And now I pray for you to work them out
as a living reality in my life – even today
as I thank you that you are with me
on my journey through life.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen.

Midday
Take time to listen for God to speak with you at this time of day
…..and respond to His voice….
Father God…thank you.

Evening
Reading : read these few verses again from Matthew 3
Reflect prayerfully on these words and images…. And then pray as your day closes
LORD God, our great God,
For all of today
I thank You,
Even for those things that have caused me fear and concern.
Help me to rest in Your unfailing love and on Your faithful Word
As I wait for tomorrow.
As I look around at this world
In these days.
Have mercy O Lord!
