Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Father God

Reading : DANIEL chapter 1

Meditation : take time to consider these words.
How would you describe Daniel’s relationship with God?
What is God saying to you today from His Word?

Then pray in response to the LORD as your day starts

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on the leaders and government of Canada
Lord, hear our prayers and bless each and all real good we ask.

Evening
Reading : read these particular verses again from Daniel 1
Reflect on the words written here – and what God is saying to you now.
Pray in response to this God who was with Daniel
O LORD, hear our evening prayers as this day closes
As we return our thanks to You.
And bless all those we name before you.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Daily Devotions for AUGUST 2019

‘O LORD, I have heard of what you have done, and I am filled with awe. Now do again in our times the great deeds you used to do.’’ Habakkuk 3 verse 2

During 2019 we are looking at various Bible characters and their relationship with God, and with each other – as well as a couple of Psalms each weekend – pausing in prayer at our times of Midday Devotion for others in our church family, our city and our world at this time of the year.
In August we journey with Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Amos, Jonah, Micah, Habakkuk and others – what a group of men!!
We are all encouraged to listen for God’s voice and make our response as we journey together in our ‘rhythm of devotion’ during 2019.

These Devotions are but one way to feed on God’s Word in the morning, at midday, in the evening… to pray with Him continually through the day and even to share with others the treasures or hurdles you discover.
The Church website and Facebook page (even on a handy mobile) provide a fuller daily devotional page. However it all follows the pattern below which the information provided fits into, based on the Kirk’s origins of the Celtic and Northumbrian traditions which we started as a church family in 2015.

As we seek to see
Thy Kingdom Come afresh
In our families

In your Church

In Jesus’ name
Amen

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Your Name.
Your kingdom come
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
Now and for ever

Pray God’s blessing on the Church across our nation.
O LORD God, have mercy on each and all, and hear our prayers this day.

Evening
Reading : read these verses again from Ezekiel 47
Reflect on the words and images written here …. And then pray to the LORD our God
Hear our evening prayers, O God, as this day ends.
We believe and trust in You and lay ourselves before You
As we journey on into tomorrow.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
