Morning
Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Jesus

Reading : GENESIS 32 verses 1-21

Meditation : consider all that happens here as your day starts!
How would you describe Jacob’s relationship with his brother?
What is God saying to you today?
Which words will you hold on to today?

And then Pray in response – as God leads you
Invite and allow the Holy Spirit to bring words and images to your mind.
Pray with confidence to our God, Father God

Amen – we pray together.

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on those who have family troubles at this time
Father God, hear our prayers, show mercy and bless them real good we ask.

Evening
Reading : read the passage again
Reflect on the words you have just read and pray in response
Lord Jesus, hear our evening prayers
And may we be a people who evidence the fruit of the Spirit
Even in our own family circle.
Amen.

Meditation : take time and carefully consider these words this morning.
How would you describe this family relationship?
What is God saying to you today from these verses?

Then pray in response as your day starts
Including for others in your family circle

Pray God’s blessing on those who have left family home unhappily
Lord, hear our prayers and bless each and all real good we ask.

Evening
Reading : read these particular verses again from Genesis 31
Reflect on the words and images from yesteryear – and what God is saying to you now.
Pray in response to this God who was at work in Jacob’s life
O LORD, hear our evening prayers as this day closes
As we return our thanks to You.
And bless all those we name before you.

What words stay with you?
What is God saying to you today as your day starts?
Is there someone He is asking you to come alongside?
Is there a step of discipleship He is calling you to take?

And then pray in response – to the God who has a Great Plan at work

O LORD our God,
Send us
Even today
As we work to see Your Kingdom come,
Your will being done above all else.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen and amen!

Midday
Pray God’s blessing on the land and people of Iraq at this time
LORD, hear our prayers and bless them all real good we ask.

Evening
Reading : read these verses again about Jacob, Laban, Rachel and Leah
Reflect on what you have read and then pray in response – for yourself and
for others known to you at this time
LORD God, Father God, hear our many different prayers.
And bless all we name before you we ask.
Take us tomorrow to new places!
