Look Upward and Pray to hear and receive from Jesus.

Reading : MATTHEW 7 verses 24-27
Meditation : take time and consider these words about a good foundation.
What are you encouraged and challenged by?
What words will you hold onto today?

Pray in response…..and let God do some building work

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Midday
Pray the Lord’s Prayer as your own midday prayer

God of grace and mercy…and hope, hear our prayers.

Evening
Reading : read these verses again
Reflect on the words spoken here….. and Pray in response to the God of a firm foundation
Living God, hear our evening prayers for ourselves and for others.

Meditation : consider carefully these teachings by Jesus.
What is God saying to you from them today?
What is your response?

And then Pray in response – looking again at verse 34

Father God
Teach us from your Word
To live
To work
To rest and play
Today
That Your kingdom come, your will is done
In our lives and in our world.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray God’s blessing on leaders of charities in our land
Let grace and mercy flow down O God. Amen and Amen.

Evening
Reading : read the verses again from Matthew 6
Reflect on their meaning for you and then pray…..
O Lord, hear our evening prayers and our response to your Word.

O God…guide and use them for Kingdom good each and all we ask.

Meditation : take time to consider these words of teaching from Jesus
Which words are you drawn to? What do they teach you?
What is your response to God our Father today?

Then take time to Pray to the One who spoke these words

O Lord,
I read these words,
Teach me what they mean for me this day
And how I should then be praying
To please your Father, my Father God
Even this day.

Meditation : consider the words spoken here by Jesus about helping others in need
What is your response to Him?

And then turn to God as you Pray in response

O Father God,
Our God,
Thank you for these words we read.
Help us to make these words
A living reality…today,
With the help of Your Holy Spirit within us
For of ourselves we fail and fall.
Amen we say together.

Midday
Take time to listen for God to speak with you at this time of day
Ask…… seek…… knock……….hear!
Father, thank you.

Evening
Reading : read these words again from Jesus
Reflect on the truths…and on your day…. and Pray in response – to Father God
(Pray your own words at the end of this day
Words of worship and praise – for who God is
Words of confession and trust – for what Father God has done today for you and for others
Words of hope and longing – for what God will do in and through you – even tomorrow)
