Reading : 1 THESSALONIANS 4 verse 13 – chapter 5 verse 11

Meditation : take time to consider this part of the Bible about the return of Jesus.

What encourages or challenges you today?

Pray in response to what you have read – noting verse 11 of chapter 5

God of grace and mercy…and hope, hear our prayers.


Evening
Reading : read these words again to the Church at Thessalonica
Reflect on the verses here and then Pray in response
Giving thanks for God’s great plan!
LORD God, our God, hear our evening prayers, as we return our thanks to You.
O prepare us to be ever-ready for the return of our Saviour and Lord!

Reading : COLOSSIANS 1 verses 1-23

Meditation : take time to consider these words about Christ Jesus on this Sunday.

Who are you thankful for in God’s Church – at home or elssewhere?
What is God teaching you today about Christ?

and then pray in response, to ‘the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ’
including prayers of thanksgiving and for others
and to be more like Jesus

Pray for your church family to know God’s Sunday blessings
O LORD, our God, hear our cry and pour out Your blessing!

Evening
Reading : read these verses again from Colossians 1
Reflect on the words and images and then Pray in response at the end of your day
O LORD, hear our prayers we ask.
As we return our thanks to you
As we acknowledge You our Saviour.
As we pray for all corners of our world
To know of Jesus.

Thy Kingdom Come was a prayer venture earlier this year in our land and across our world.

We have been pausing each Saturday morning at 8am to revisit the themes raised by the leaders.

Today we are encouraged to bring to God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – our prayers of praise
For who He is
For all His gifts in Christ
For all the blessings of this week

O LORD
Our God
We bring to You
our sacrifice of Praise
For who You are
For all Your gifts and blessings
especially for….

Reading : PHILIPPIANS 4 verses 2-9

Meditation : take time to consider these verses this morning.
Which words of Paul’s stay with you? What is God saying to you today?

O God, my Father,
Hear my morning prayer
As I lay my worries and needs before you
As I receive your peace.

Pray God’s blessing on those struggling financially at this time
Father God, hear our prayers and bless them real good
Surprise them even this day.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Evening

Reflect on verse 8 in particular as you look back over the day and then Pray in response
LORD God, our God, hear our prayers this evening.

O God of truth,
As I read these words
Help me believe
And trust in You
In good times and in hard times.
May Your Holy Spirit work in and through me.
As You were doing through Paul
As You are doing across the world.
In Jesus’ name.

Pray God’s blessing on those struggling against the evil one.
Father God, hear our prayers and bless them real good we ask at this time

Reading : read these verses again from Ephesians 6
Reflect on the armour God has provided and pray in response to Him
For others in need at this time as well as yourself
Lord Jesus, hear our evening prayers
As we bring ourselves to you at the end of this day.
As we name others before You.

Jesus said in John 15 (verse 16)….. “You did not choose me; I chose you and appointed you to go and bear much fruit, the kind of fruit that endures. And so the Father will give you whatever you ask of him in my name.”
